June 15 Toronto The predominantly lesbian-run Amazon Workshop held a grand opening party at 12 Kensington Avenue. It was an umbrella organization for community services such as the Women's Self-Defense Centre, Amazon Press (formerly Women's Liberation Type Press), and the Toronto Women's Bookstore (formerly Let Us Out Bookstore) that had formerly been located at the Women's Place on Dupont Street.
