August 25 Saskatoon The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission decided to recommend the expansion of anti-discrimination legislation and equal opportunity programs in Saskatchewan, including the outlawing of discrimination based on sexual orientation. This was the first time that a Human Rights Commission in Canada had called for the inclusion of sexual orientation in human rights legislation.
