Description

March 8 Ottawa Before a meeting of the Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, Senator Lionel Choquette (Lib.-Ontario) said that he had been told that lesbianism was "rampant" among both prisoners and guards at the prison for women in Kingston, Ontario. He asked for comments on this from a delegation from the Elizabeth Fry Society that was testifying before the Committee. A suggestion was made that the introduction of more male staff would counteract lesbianism at the institution.
