February 15 Toronto The Toronto Star refused to publish a classified ad soliciting subscriptions for The Body Politic. The entire ad read: "The Body Politic, Gay Liberation Journal, $2 for six issues. 4 Kensington Ave., Toronto, Ont. MJT 2J7." The Star declared that it was not its policy "to accept advertising which would identify or tend to identify a person as a homosexual or to carry advertisements relating to homosexual activity." The Body Politic lodged a complaint of discrimination against the Star with the Ontario Press Council. (See also April 11 and April 30, 1973.)
