October Saskatoon Saskatoon Gay Alliance toward Equality (GATE) (Saskatoon) and the Gay Students Alliance (GSA) merged to form Saskatoon Gay Action, under the umbrella of the Zodiac Friendship Society. Saskatoon Gay Action was organized to coordinate the educational, political, and civil rights activities of the Society. Bruce Garman was the first chairman of the group.
