September 7 Vancouver The first issue of The Gay Canadian newspaper appeared. Published by Kevin D. McKeown (also known as Q.Q.) and edited by Jack R. Dowhy, The Gay Canadian attempted to include news of interest to gays across Canada. It folded after issue two (November 1972).
