Description

August 30 British Columbia A provincial election was held. This was the first Canadian provincial election in which gays took a visible role, and homosexuality became an issue through calls for gay civil rights. During the election campaign, gay activists (mostly members of CGAA and GATE) attended seven all-candidates meetings, sent questionnaires to all candidates, and distributed several thousand leaflets.
