Description

June 29 Toronto About twenty-five members of CHAT and TGA demonstrated at the Ontario Legislature to protest the omission of a sexual orientation clause from Bill 199, an amendment to the Ontario Human Rights Code then being considered by the Legislature. On June 27, 1972, CHAT had sent a brief to all members of the Legislature asking them to end discrimination based on sexual orientation in employment, housing, and other areas. This was the first public gay action in Ontario that centred on rights code reform.
