November 23 Windsor, Ont. The organizational meeting of the Windsor Homophile Association was held. Steve Lough was the group's key organizer. At first it was focused around rap sessions, then dances, community education, and a gayline. In January 1973 it was renamed Windsor Gay Unity (WGU). By early 1974 WGU had collapsed, but it reorganized as a more formal organization in November 1974. Eventually WGU would sponsor gaylines, a speaker's bureau, dances, a newsletter, and a drop-in centre.
