October 31 Toronto Between 5,000 and 8,000 people jammed Yonge Street during Halloween to watch men dressed in drag enter the St. Charles Tavern, 488 Yonge Street. Police closed off the sidewalk for a full block in front of the St. Charles, while members of UTHA passed out leaflets to the crowd, urging understanding of homosexuality.
