Description

Autumn Toronto Chris John Ayre founded Homophile Information Media (HIM) (later Homophile Information Media of Canada/Centre d'information homophile du Canada HIMC/CIHC), which was dedicated to educating about homosexuality. By mail and telephone HIM acted as a referral service for information on social services and the gay social scene across Canada. The Homophile Dating Association was formed as a spin-off of HIM. HIMC/CIHC was dormant by January 1974.
