Description
August Toronto The General Committee plenum of the League for Socialist Action/Ligue socialiste ouvrifère (LSA/LSO) was held, during which gay liberation was first formally raised for discussion. The resulting Plenum Report, written by John Steele, called for the opening of a dialogue with gay liberationists and proposed that the LSA/LSO give educational and propagandistic support to the gay movement. Several LSA/LSO Discussion Bulletin papers subsequently examined the League's intervention in gay liberation activities. (see also December 1971.)
