July 1 Montréal In their first public action, members of FLH joined in a large anti-Confederation demonstration held at Parc Lafontaine. Denis Côté, president of FLH, addressed the crowd. The gay marchers were subjected to open hostility from other groups, and were condemned by René Lévesque, leader of the Parti Québécois.
