Description

April 1—6 Vancouver About 500 women from across North America attended an Indochinese conference, sponsored by the Voice of Women and other groups and held at the University of British Columbia. During the conference, six revolutionary women visiting from Indochina called for unity and resistance in the face of oppression. The final two days of the conference were set aside for women's liberation issues. The delegates included a political grouping of radical lesbians, who called themselves "women-identified women." They declared that "lesbianism is revolution" and that the Indochinese women had as much to learn from the struggle of lesbians as the lesbians had to learn from oppression in Indochina.
