March Toronto An Indochinese women's conference, organized by TWLM, was held during which divisions emerged over the "lesbian question." Planned lesbian workshops were cancelled at the last moment, leading lesbian delegates to read a statement at the Plenary Session complaining of mistreatment and demanding that the workshops be rescheduled. This was the first public statement by lesbians in Toronto. Resulting arguments and confusion underscored the importance of holding a lesbian educational forum to help facilitate discussion of lesbianism within TWLM. (see also April 15, 1971)
