December Toronto A group of lesbian members of CHAT, self-named The Cunts, delivered a written statement to the membership-at-large. They announced that they were starting an independent lesbian group and demanded that the CHAT membership (which was mostly male) confront its own sexism. This issue stemmed from male domination of official positions at CHAT. The Cunts demanded that CHAT adopt an amendment to its proposed constitution that would state "Dykes and faggots in CHAT shall share equally in decision making. This means equalization at all official decision making levels, i.e. in the proposed constitution; executive, vice-chair and chair." (see also March 7 and April 6, 1972.)
