October 20 Downsview, Ont. About thirty people attended the founding meeting of the York University Homophile Association (YUHA), held at Winters College. Roger Wilkes became the group's first president. This was the second homophile association formed at a Canadian University, YUHA sponsored discussion groups, guest speakers, a speakers bureau, movie nights, and a newsletter. The group changed its name to Gay Alliance at York (GAY) in 1975.
