May Toronto About sixty people attended an inaugural bash held by Spearhead Toronto, the gay leather and denim fraternity. The first issue of Spearhead's newsletter, Phalia, was published in June 1970. It is still published in 1995, making it the longest running lesbian or gay publication in Canada.
