November Toronto The Biblical and Theological Understanding of Sexuality and Family Life, a report of a study of the Faith and Order Commission of the Canadian Council of Churches, was published. Appendix Four, Towards a Theological Perspective on Human Sexuality," was the report of the Saskatoon Study Group (pp. 47—75). It addressed homosexuality and Christianity, and stated that the "appropriate Christian response... is to dispel all popular misconceptions and grotesque views of homosexual characteristics and behaviour, to alter criminal legislation having to do with this matter, and in general to create a social climate where homosexual men and women can experience some measure of acceptance" (p. 53).
