Description

July 18-27 Toronto Toronto's first full-length variety show of female impersonators was presented at the Global Village Theatre, 17 St. Nicholas Street. Facad, a show of mimes, dances, and skits, was directed by Michael Oscars and featured six impersonators — Sacha (Craig Jeffries), Anita (Rae Peters), Bodine, Jennie, Riki-Tick (Ricky Sheldon), and Sophie (Richard Douglas). An expanded version of the show, directed by G.G. Mills, was presented by Ed Mirvish at the Royal Alexandra Theatre for a two-week run starting August 21,1969. Most of these performers also appeared in Michael Oscars's musical review She-Rade during August and September 1969 at the Theatre-in-the-Dell.
