January 30 Toronto Dr. Paul B. Smith of the People's Church, one of Toronto's leading fundamentalist Christian ministers, spoke to a congregation of 1,500 people on the topic "The Sin of Sodom." Dr. Smith stated that the law prohibiting homosexual acts between consenting adults should be abolished. He did view homosexuality as a sin, though, saying that it was as intolerable as other sins, such as adultery. (see also January 1966.)
