Description

October 14 Vancouver About sixty people attended a public panel discussion on "Religious Teaching and the Homosexual," sponsored by ASK and held at the Unitarian Hall. The panelists included Father James Roberts of Mount St. Joseph Hospital, Rev. A. Phillip Hewett, pastor of the Unitarian Church, and Prof William Nicholls, an Anglican minister and head of the department of religious studies at the University of British Columbia. Nicholl stated that the criminal law should be changed to permit homosexual acts in private between consenting adults, and that the church should encourage stable unions between homosexuals.
