Biography

Ken Popert was an important figure in Canada's gay liberation movement. He was president of Pink Triangle Press, the non-profit publisher of the Body Politic, as well as an elected committee member of Gay Alliance Toward Equality Toronto. As an officer of Pink Triangle Press, Popert was charged for distributing indecent material in 1978 and found not guilty in February 1979. He also spoke about gay rights at conferences and rallies.
