November 5 Toronto The organization Women against Violence against Women (WAVAW) was formed after the first national "Take Back the Night" march. WAVAW became involved in actions against Renaissance International's anti-feminist, homophobic "Christian Liberation Crusade," which brought Anita Bryant to Canada, as well as organizing to oppose domestic and street violence against women.
