Description
September Ontario During the campaign leading up to the September 18 provincial election six NDP MPPS (Ted Bounsall, Michael Cassidy, Pat Lawlor, Stephen Lewis, Ross McClellan, and David Warner) declared their support for amending the Ontario Human Rights Code to include protection based on sexual orientation. Margaret Campbell (Lib.-St. George) also made public statements supporting gay rights, CGRO had produced an updated ten-page brief, "The Homosexual Minority in Ontario," which it sent to all sitting members of the Legislature, and to newly elected members after the election. As well, "Toward Equality," a pamphlet containing CGRO'S list of demands, was sent with a covering letter to all candidates in the election. (see also September 13,1975.)
