Description

November 20 Vancouver The Society for Education Action Research and Counselling on Homosexuality (SEARCH) was formed in reaction to harassment and raids of gay bars and clubs during October. Malcolm Crane and Warren Hague were two of the organizers of SEARCH. The twenty-one people who met at the founding meeting of SEARCH represented a variety of clubs and organizations in Vancouver, although members of GATE (Vancouver) were excluded. The group's aim was to form a coalition to present a united front against official harassment of the gay community. (see also November 23 and December 17,1974.)
