Description

June 29 Vancouver Police raided the Hampton Court Club, a gay discotheque at 1066 Seymour Street, for selling liquor without a licence. They smashed down the front door and photographed patrons, but made no arrests; similar heterosexual establishments were not harassed in this way. This was part of a campaign of police harassment of gays in Vancouver that continued throughout the summer of 1973.
